Particle Size Distribution and Concentration of Gold Colloidal Nanoparticles

Abstract Nanoparticles controlled by size and shape in water are significant to investigate toxicity of nanoparticles. In this present work, we develop well-controlled gold nanoparticles having 30 and 80 nm. The gold nanoparticles were characterized with respect to their shape and size by transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and scanning electron microscope (SEM). Particle size distribution in gold colloidal nanoparticles was determined by the electrospray scanning mobility particle sizer (ES-SMPS) and we compared it with an average particles size measured from dynamic light scattering (DLS). The geometric mean diameter (GMD) obtained by ES-SMPS was in good agreement compared to DLS results.
