Abstract Vaporizing cannabis extracts has increased in popularity as a potentially healthier alternative to smoking. Despite the rise in consumption by this method, little is known about the chemical profiles of aerosolized extracts. Our lab has worked on identifying degradation products and mechanisms or formation therein as a function of naturally-occurring components or additives. Given the unique chemical makeup of cannabis-derived aerosols as compared to those derived from cigarettes or e-cigarettes, our focus has been on collection techniques and gas-particle partitioning of the products found.
