Abstract
My research mainly focuses on atmospheric modeling, chemical data assimilation, and machine learning techniques. I am currently a postdoctoral scholar at The Ohio State University, where I develop machine learning-based models to predict the mass absorption cross-section (MAC) of black carbon.
From 2023 to 2024, I worked as a postdoctoral associate with Prof. Dylan Millet at the University Minnesota. My work focused on a NASA-funded project that involved assimilating satellite observations of reactive Ozone precursors to update Volatile Organic compound (VOC) emissions and to advance the model forecast. I employed GEOS-Chem model to develop a parameterized relationship between Isoprene/HCHO/NO2 column concentrations and Isoprene emissions.
During my Ph.D., I built an ensemble-based chemical data assimilation system for the CMAQ model, applying algorithms like the ensemble Kalman filter to assimilate PM2.5 observations and improve aerosol predictions over East Asia. I also have a strong foundation in statistical modeling and geospatial analysis, applying methods such as Ordinary Kriging to estimate particulate matter distributions over urban regions.
With nine years of experience, I bring strong expertise in atmospheric chemistry, 3D atmospheric modeling, data assimilation, scientific programming (Python, R, Fortran, C++, Shell), and machine learning. Building on this experience, I am eager to contribute to collaborative research that advances the predictive capability of atmospheric models. I am currently seeking postdoctoral/ research scientist/specialist position—across academic/non-academic/government institutions—where I can contribute to high-impact atmospheric research. I will be available beginning January 2026.
Geographic Preference: Anywhere in U.S.
