Abstract
Air pollution is a big problem in India and Pakistan and a regional effort is required to mitigate the problem. This research focuses on PM2.5 air pollution especially in Lahore, so that extent of the problem can be studied and investigated both in Pakistan as well as in India. PM2.5 samples were collected in an urban location in Lahore and analysis of various species including organic, inorganic and metals were investigated to understand the complexity of the problem. It is expected that by identifying various sources' contributions on overall air quality, complexity of the problem of air pollution can be identified. By employing suitable mitigation strategies, problem of pollution in Lahore and adjoining areas (including India) can be reduced.
